 HST on Gas Prices Rising, Punishing Northern Ontario Families
New Democrat John Rafferty (Thunder Bay - Rainy River) rose during Question Period in the House of Commons today to press the Conservative Government over rising gas prices in Northern Ontario and the cost of living in the region, which he says has been made worse by the implementation of the federal HST.

 No Big Winner, Now $81 Million Up for Grabs Next Friday
For the third week in a row, lottery players in Ontario can look on the plus side of LOTTO MAX again. As there was no winning ticket for the $50 million LOTTO MAX jackpot last night, the upcoming LOTTO MAX draw for Friday, March 11 will remain at an estimated $50 million with an additional estimated 31 $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes up for grabs, bringing the total prize amount to $81 million.
Last night's draw for 22 MAXMILLIONS, resulted in five winning tickets in Ontario. Three winning tickets for $1 million were sold in Newmarket, Thunder Bay and Mississauga. Two winning tickets sold in Ottawa and North Bay are worth $500,000. They will each split a MAXMILLIONS prize with another winning ticket from outside the province. Four other winning MAXMILLIONS tickets were sold outside the province.
When LOTTO MAX is in MAXMILLIONS mode, consumers will see the green 'plus' symbol at retailers and in advertising. This indicates that the LOTTO MAX jackpot is estimated at $50 million plus the number of additional MAXMILLIONS draws that are also estimated.
