Crossing the thin blue line
Leadership — if there has ever been a time when Ottawa Police Chief Vern White has had to show it, it’s now.
Keep Canada grope free
Canada’s Chief Groper, Transport Minister Chuck Strahl, has to get a handle on airport security before it flies out of control.
Senate misuse could misfire
Although they deny it, Conservative senators are using the Upper Chamber in a way it has seldom been used before.
Time for PM to solve problems
Word is Prime Minister Stephen Harper is preparing to emerge from the bubble in which he’s hidden for the past several weeks. That’s good.
The right move
Ottawa police officials should not have to go out of their way to explain and justify the decision to publicize the name and photo of a man charged in May after he allegedly had unprotected sex with a number of partners without telling them about his HIV-positive status.
Impaired legislation the right move
After all the controversy sparked by the HST and the eco fees fiasco this summer, it seems the Liberals are finally behind something that went right: The implementation of new regulations that prohibit drivers 21 years of age and younger from having any alcohol in their systems.
