Epping's draw to button seals Players' Championship title
Toronto's John Epping upset Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., 7-6 on Sunday to win the men's final at the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling Players' Championship. Epping drew to the button on the game's final shot to clinch the win in Summerside, P.E.I.

Skip Heather Nedohin downs Jennifer Jones in P.E.I.
Edmonton's Heather Nedohin defeated Winnipeg's Jennifer Jones 5-2 on Wednesday at the Players' Championship curling tournament in Summerside, P.E.I. Nedohin (1-2) scored two in the second end and added two more in the fifth to lead 4-1. She scored another in the sixth before Jones (1-2) made it 5-2 with one in the seventh but could get no closer.

Canada's Glenn Howard has won his fourth world men's curling championship. The Coldwater, Ont., skip and his team of Craig Savill, Brent Laing and Wayne Middaugh beat Scotland 8-7 in an extra end at Basel, Switzerland.

Canada's Heather Nedohin closed in on a playoff berth at the world women's curling championship with her seventh win. Her Edmonton team defeated Germany's Melanie Robillard 5-4 for their second win of the day. Nedohin beat South Korea's Ji-Sun Kim 7-5 earlier and was 7-2.

Canada's Nedohin unbeaten at women's curling worlds
Canada emerged from the opening weekend of the women's world curling championship Sunday in Lethbrigde, Alta., alone at the top of the standings at 3-0. Nedohin stole a point in the 10th end to get by Switzerland's Mirjam Ott 6-5 in the evening draw after a 7-5 win over China's Bingyu Wang.
